What is a lip lift?
Dallas facial plastic surgeon, Dr. John Standefer offers lip lifts to enhance the lip’s shape and appearance, creating a more youthful smile. Each lip procedure is tailored to address your individual facial features and your aesthetic goals.
A lip lift is a subtle, yet impactful procedure to make the upper lip more attractive, which contributes to a balanced face and beautiful smile. It is performed on women and men of all ages. Whether you feel like you have age-related sagging lips that have lost volume and increased in length, you have too much space between your nose and the top of your upper lip, you’re wanting more symmetrical lips, or you have distortion as a result of improper filler injections, a lip lift will rejuvenate your appearance.
How is a lip lift performed?
The lip lift is a minimally invasive procedure performed in the office using local anesthetic with sedation. There are multiple ways of performing a lip lift. After listening to your aesthetic goals and performing an examination, Dr. Standefer will create a customized surgical plan based on your unique needs.
An incision is made along the curves at the base of the nose in the natural crease, and a small area of skin is removed. This shortens the length of the upper lip by lifting the position of the lip upward. The ideal length of this area is 12-15 millimeters, but this length may vary depending on the patient’s facial features. Then, he lifts the lip to its new positions and closes the incision carefully to ensure minimal scarring.
How much does a lip lift cost?
Each patient’s desired outcomes vary. Please schedule a complimentary consultation, and based on your unique lip lift needs, we will be able to provide you with the exact cost. FINANCING OPTIONS are available for lip lifts.
What can I expect during recovery for a lip lift?
There is typically a moderate amount of swelling during the first 72 hours. This can be improved by using cold compresses over the upper lip. Minor bruising is possible and usually subsides within 1 week. Most patients return back to work and resume their normal daily activities within 7-10 days after surgery.
